Puerto Vallarta & Riviera Nayarit wedding photographers Eva Sica & Toms Cirksis, Jessica Tellez

About

Ten pieces of baggage, no friends, no relatives, no idea what to do. That is how Latvian fashion photographer Eva Šica and her husband, graphic designer Kristians Šics, arrived in Mexico in 2008. For the first six months, they lived with a Mexican family, learning the Spanish language, manners, and recipes.

A year later, Eva’s brother, photographer Toms Cirksis, followed his beloved to Mexico city, though quite soon he moved in with his sister in Puerto Vallarta to heal his broken heart. They joined forces, continuing to focus on fashion and documentary photography, and twice a year Eva traveled to Latvia to photograph catalogs for their fashion clients. In November, during the height of the wedding season in Vallarta, a wedding photo agency asked for help. “As time went by, each wedding that I photographed excited me more and more,” says Eva.

Soon Eva met project director Pierre Morillon from France at a fashion photo session he was managing; this connection led to the establishment of the PhotoShoots Vallarta studio and in 2015, changed its name to Ave Sol. They also added the invaluable Jessica Téllez to their photography team that same year.

Their studio stood out as the first in Puerto Vallarta to deliver photographs to clients in two weeks. Each image is processed four times as the standard for impeccable attention to detail which is accomplished through their in-house editing. There are no generic filters used, each image receives the unique touch it requires. It was also the first agency to provide the client with all of the photographs from their session in high resolution, not just a limited amount as other agencies did.

While Ave Sol has published images in many wedding magazines and blogs over the years, it is a great career highlight to be recommended in the prestigious Carats & Cakes. Ave Sol Agency has worked with high-end clients including Eva Longoria, Demi Lovato, and Bob Guiney. Each summer the studio’s team gains new impressions and inspirations by working at weddings in Europe, mainly in France.

We love to work with all couples, all traditions, everything outside traditions, same-gender couples, and couples with their own flower girls and ring bearers. Above all is love, which is always astonishingly photogenic,” says Eva.
