Vallarta & Sayulita Wedding Photography
Ten pieces of baggage, no friends, no relatives, no idea what to do. That is how Latvian fashion photographer Eva Šica and her husband, graphic designer Kristians Šics, arrived in Mexico in 2008.
For the first six months, they lived with a Mexican family, learning the Spanish language, manners and recipes. A year later, Eva’s brother, photographer Toms Cirksis, followed his beloved to Mexico city, though quite soon he moved in with his sister in Puerto Vallarta to heal his broken heart. They continued to focus on fashion and documentary photography. Twice a year Eva travelled Latvia to photograph catalogues for their fashion clients.
In November, during the height of the wedding season in Vallarta, a wedding photo agency asked for help. “As time went by, each wedding that I photographed excited me more and more.” says Eva. Eva met project director Pierre Morillon from France at a fashion photo session he was managing.
This led to the establishment of the PhotoShoots Vallarta studio, in 2015 the studio changed its name to Ave Sol. It was the first one in Puerto Vallarta to deliver photographs to the clients in two weeks’ time, and each one is processed four times in accordance with the pre-described workflow. It was also the first agency to provide the client with all of the photographs in high resolution, not just a limited amount, as other agencies did. Ave Sol has published images in many wedding magazines and on blogs.
Ave Sol's team has worked with Eva Longoria, Demi Lovato and Bob Guiney. Each summer photographers gain new impressions and inspirations by working at weddings in Europe, mostly in France. “We love to work with all couples, all traditions, all attempts to avoid traditions, same-gender couples, and couples with their own flower girls and ring bearers. Above all is love, which is always surprising and astonishingly photogenic.” says Eva.
